FAQ'S
Frequently Asked Questions
Pledge
Why are we asking you to pledge?
Is my pledge amount in addition to my regular giving at Northpoint church?
Is my pledge amount for the whole capital campaign or is it per year?
Where do I send my building fund checks?
What happens if we don't raise 5 million?
While we are trusting God will provide, the money pledged will only be used to secure our future home. We will move forward with buying land regardless as real estate prices will only increase and is an appreciating asset, because we’re clearly going to need to take this step at some point in the near future. Your pledge will go into a fund that will allow us to move forward with increasing capacity as soon as is possible and responsible.
Building
When will construction begin?
Construction on our new home will begin late 2019 with the project completed within 18 months.
Why not just move more people to first and third service?
The primary time for a first time guest to come to church is 10:00am. The best analysis from around the country would say when you are full in your largest service, you are full as a church. Even with perfect distribution, we’re going to be capped in our current facility between 750 and 800 people. In addition, the capacity challenge goes beyond just adult attendance in the auditorium, as our children and student environments are affected as services fill as well.
How does the facility allow us to be more FOR you, the next generation, and our community?
Will the building be used for other purposes?
As it stands, our current facility is in use every day of the week. It will be used for leadership development, groups, children’s and student events, and more. We’re open to using the facility for anything that furthers our mission and vision. We do not currently have any plans for other paid uses of the facility.
In what ways is Northpoint for our community?
Northpoint believes in the power of community, both inside the church and outside our church. Within our church community, we have community groups that meet weekly to help each other grow relationally and spiritually. We also believe that it’s difficult to experience the fullness of what these small group communities have to offer if they don’t serve together outside the church. As such, Northpoint has partnered with organizations all across the Greater Austin area so our groups can have a tangible, powerful, and helpful impact on our larger community. Find out more and ways that you and your group can get involved.
