Day 1

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

-Acts 17:26-27

Have you ever thought about how remarkable it is that God not only created us with value and worth in His image, but He also established the times and places we should live? The fact that we live in the Greater Austin area is not an accident. God put us—you—here in 2018. As you think about that profound reality, it begs us to ask other questions: Why? Why did God put us in this time and place? For what purpose? For what reason?

Luke answers this question in Acts 17:27, when he says, “God did this so that 'they' (people in this city who don’t know God) would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” Is God, then, saying He put me and you in this time and in this place to be part of a bigger story? Yes. Is God, then, saying that the bigger story is seeing more and more people discover there is a God who is for them and loves them? Yes.

You might be wondering, "How? I am just one person." But the church is made up individual people with individual gifts and talents that are so critical to God’s purposes. People need people in whom they can see Jesus.

Collectively, we get to create a church that unchurched people love to attend, where they can discover that God is for them, God loves them and God is not far from them. Not only will their life, marriage, family, legacy and eternity change, but our lives will also be richer, fuller and more purposeful in the process. What a wonderful story in which we get to participate.

Today, we have an opportunity to take a giant step in this story. How? By moving towards making Northpoint’s brand-new facility a reality. This will allow us to be for people like never before, to create space for people to come, ask questions and grow in their faith. We get to be part of a historic moment and discover the incredible things God has for us and for Austin!

  • Ask God to remind you in a new way that you have purpose and meaning in this incredible city.

  • Ask God to show you how you / your family can be part of this next BIG step in this incredible story we get to be part of.

Relate (pray)

Jesus, open my eyes and prepare my heart on how you would have me / my family be part of something BIG. Amen.
